SigmaSignal ("the app") is operated by SigmaSignal. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's stored.

What we collect

Data	When	Why
Email address	You create an account	Sign-in identity (via Amazon Cognito); no password is seen or stored by SigmaSignal itself
Portfolio holdings (ticker, shares, cost basis, purchase date)	You add, import, or connect an account	So your portfolio persists across visits and devices
Watch list tickers	You add tickers to screen	So your watch list persists across visits
Schwab OAuth tokens	You connect a Charles Schwab account (allow-listed accounts only)	To re-fetch your live positions without re-authenticating each time; encrypted at rest, read-only, no trading
IP address	Every request	Anonymous usage limits and abuse prevention; not stored long-term

What we don't do

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
We do not see or store your Cognito password — authentication is handled entirely by Amazon Cognito.
We do not execute trades. The Schwab integration is read-only (positions only).

Market data

Stock and index data is sourced from Yahoo Finance via the yfinance library. This data may be delayed and is cached briefly (10–15 minutes) on our server to reduce load. It is provided for informational purposes only and is not guaranteed to be accurate or current.

Cookies

The app uses a small number of cookies, all first-party (no third-party tracking or advertising cookies):

A signed, HTTP-only session cookie that keeps you signed in.
A signed, HTTP-only one-time cookie during the sign-in and Schwab-connect flows (cleared immediately after).
A signed cookie tracking anonymous demo-analysis usage (only for signed-out visitors).

Data retention & deletion

Your account data (portfolio, watch list, Schwab connection) is retained until you delete it or ask us to. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email bjnesbitt@capsulr.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
